Our Mission

The mission of our church is to lead our people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  We accomplish that through the Four Pillars Of New Horizons.

Four Pillars Of New Horizons

Pillar One: Inspire People Through Worship
We desire for people to develop a heart for God through worship.  Worship in itself is not exclusive to singing, but by definition it means to ascribe worth.  In essence, worship is giving.  Whether it is personal or corporate worship, we are to ascribe worth to God by giving Him the glory that He deserves.  The most common expression of worship is singing and we are commanded to come before Him with singing.  Because we love God, we will come into His presence with songs of rejoicing and reverence.  We are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and we are to worship God in spirit and in truth.

Pillar Two: Instruct People Through Discipleship
The first church continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayers.  We provide people the opportunity to grow in these key areas as they increase their faith and become a more devoted follower of Jesus Christ.  Opportunities to grow in discipleship include Bible studies, prayer time, LIFE Groups, Point Man, Accountability Bible reading programs, retreats, and other opportunities that avail themselves throughout the year.

Pillar Three: Involve People Through Ministry
Any church in the New Testament that was successful was a church in which the people were involved in ministry.  The church as a whole is given spiritual gifts and abilities to be used to advance His purposes and His kingdom.  Serving in ministry is both fulfilling and rewarding. According to Ephesians 4:12, the church is to do “the work of the ministry.”  Ministry at New Horizons includes serving as teachers, ushers, greeters, children’s ministry volunteers, CARE ministry, praise team, and leadership ministry such as serving as a deacon or trustee.

Pillar Four: Impact Lost People Through Evangelism
The mission of the church has not changed since Christ first gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.  The church has a mission to go and preach the Gospel.  We are ambassadors (2 Cor. 5), we are fishers of men (Jn. 4), and we are His witnesses (Acts 1:8).  We must be a personal witness in our neighborhood and workplace.  The church must be outreach minded and engage in reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
