||Where Did The Time Go?
Think about the course of one year as it relates to numbers. There are 365 days this year...that's 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes, 31,536,000 seconds. Depending upon your perspective, 2017 may have seemed to run slow or run fast. It could have been a painful year or a pleasant year, depending on your perspective. Pastor Jeremy and I were talking about perspective the other day. As I walk from my house to the church on a beautiful, sunny day, the walk is short, but enjoyable; however, on a cold, blistery day, the front doors of the church seem to appear much farther.
Some people began this year with plans and goals and with the prospect of 365 days to accomplish them, it is hard to believe that there are just a few weeks left before 2017 is in the rearview mirror. Whether it was the goal of getting fit financially, physically, or spiritually, it may cause you to wonder, "Where did the time go?" As we begin to wrap up another year, this is a great time to reflect on our accomplishments and decisions, not only the personal goals, but the spiritual goals.
More important than anything else you do is the development of your spiritual walk. Are you closer to the Lord today than you were yesterday? Are you doing more for the Lord this year than you did last year? Just as Peter challenged is readers to "grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior" (2 Peter 3:18), are you applying that to your life? If so, in what ways? If not, then what will you decide for 2018?
