Are We No Longer Concerned?
On a daily basis, we are exposed to the news of death and catastrophe.  People die every day and even when news of mass shootings or natural disaster claims the lives of many, we have become so callused to the reality of death that we seldom wonder about their eternity.  Do we even wonder anymore whether or not they knew the Lord? Where will they spend eternity? Maybe there was a time in your Christian life when you were passionate about sharing your faith.  Complacency and familiarity have hardened your heart to the Gospel message.  Do the people who work beside you even know that you are a Christian?  Have you ever asked your co-workers or neighbors if they knew the Lord?  Have you ever proclaimed your faith in an intentional manner?

Suppose you took a friend with you to lunch and towards the end of their meal they were having an allergic reaction to something they ate.  All the while they are struggling to breathe and clinging to life, it is not until the paramedics show up and inject them with Epinephrine that your friend became aware that you had an epipen available the whole time.  For the rest of their life, they would not forget how you could have helped them avoid their life-threatening experience where they could have died.

That story is unpleasant and uncomfortable to think about, but in an even greater way, what about that friend that you hang out with?  If you know the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, by accepting His sacrifice at Calvary and putting your faith in Him, what kind of friend are you, if you don't share that wonderful news with them?  Could you call yourself a good friend if you have the wonderful news of salvation, but never share it with them?  If you knew that if they died without Jesus Christ, they would spend eternity in a Christless Hell.  I challenge all of us to seriously consider what kind of life we are living in front of those who do not know Christ.  I challenge you to think about the impact that your testimony can have upon those with whom you live and work.  I challenge you to live your life in such a way that people are drawn to Jesus, by your words and deeds.

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."  2 Corinthians 4:3-4
