Results Of Impact Sunday
We called this past Sunday, Impact Sunday.  Not only was it a time to celebrate what the Lord did at this year's VBS and the impact we had on the lives of nearly 90 in attendance, but we also prepared ourselves for the impact that we hope to have on Backpack Sunday.

Our service was interrupted (all part of our plan) by the kids ministry and they came in singing one of the new songs they learned at VBS.  We took a few minutes to rejoice and praise God for a successful event.  When we asked the volunteers to stand, people all over the sanctuary stood.  What a joy it was to have so many people in our church roll up their sleeves and serve the Lord together in this spiritual endeavor.  Praise God!  We are already looking forward to next year's VBS!

We transitioned to our upcoming Backpack Sunday.  This is a great opportunity to be a blessing to many in our community.  We took up a special love offering in a unique way.  We asked each family to come forward, placing their offering envelope in one of the book bags, after which, we prayed together at the front of the sanctuary for God's blessings on this outreach event.  Our goal was to raise $1,300 to cover the cost of the backpacks, contents, and door prizes.  I would not know the amount of the love offering until the end of the service.  Until then, there was a level of anticipation growing.

Anticipation was growing because we announced to the church that if we reached the goal of $1,000, then Pastor Jeremy would be "pied."  If we reached the goal of $1,300, then I would join him.  Well, at the end of the service, we announced that over $1,500 was collected, so he and I prepared ourselves and gladly allowed our wives to smash a pie in our faces at the end of the service.  We are looking forward to the outcome of Backpack Sunday and another opportunity for us to share the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ!

To everyone who helped us reach our goal, thank you in Jesus name for your heart for souls!
